I have done wood working as a hobby and for my clients for over 25 years. The art is in finding the best combination of TV and modifications of the existing cabinet to make the new TV look like it was always there.
In many cases this might mean removing closing doors, reducing the depth of the center unit, reusing the scrap material such that it matches perfectly. This is not always an option in which we use the same type of wood, I always work hard to match the stain/finish. Generally you can match reasonably close to the existing finish. In some cases the yellowing of the finish-wood cannot be reproduced, even then we can get within a few shades. Having one person take care of the entire process speeds up the install and the overall time from start to finish.
