Sound Masking is a trick used in primarily commercial spaces where, when it is too quiet in an office or building, you add a bit of what’s called white noise, which essentially is noise that helps blanket an environment such that, when people are speaking privately in one area, their conversation cannot be heard down the hallway or in the next office or cube.
