High Definition Distribution refers to running a source, such as a satellite, cable or an in-house produced video, to multiple locations. This is accomplished using either an HDMI splitter which is used primarily in stores where they want the same picture on multiple TV’s. The second way is to modulate the signal onto what is a high definition channel like 131.1. This is called a quam channel. It allows for many channels to be modulated through the same coax with very long runs upwards of thousands of feet. This is good for a hotel or other commercial location that requires a reliable and easy way to have high quality distribution.
